53(1)The Rules of Court respecting personal service of originating process and documents apply with the necessary modifications to the service of notices and documents in respect of an arbitration under this Act unless otherwise provided in an arbitration agreement.

53(2)Despite subsection (1), a notice or other document may be served on a party by sending a facsimile of the notice or other document, as the case may be, by telephone transmission to the number that the party gave in the arbitration agreement or the number that the party gave to the arbitral tribunal.
